The Toon World was a peaceful place - or so we thought it was. As if from nowhere, a great Darkness spawned and began spreading its foul essence over our world. Being small at first, many would ignore it, thinking that it was nothing to fear. However, I, the great sorcerer Yen Sid, knew otherwise. I prepared for the day when the Darkness would attempt to destroy our world. On that fateful day when the Darkness struck, I used my powers to transport all of the Toon World’s characters to a safe haven I had created for forgotten Toons: the Wasteland.
Unbeknownst to me, however, the Wasteland itself was also under attack from the Darkness. In an act of desperation, I took assistance from my apprentice, and together, we moved the Wasteland through space and time, not knowing where we would turn up.
Upon the Wasteland’s arrival to this new world, the characters’ memories were ripped away, and the Wasteland itself became but an ordinary town. Only I retain the knowledge of who we truly are, but it is necessary that I keep them from remembering, or they may be consumed by the Darkness.
And now, I have a question: What will become of these characters who have lost their homes?
